Dear Confirmation Students and Parents,

 Welcome back to a new year of Confirmation!  I’m so excited to tell you of some new things we will be doing this year.  Included in this mailing are a calendar of lessons and retreats for the year, a copy of the Confirmation covenant that outlines expectation and goals, a 2007-2008 permission form and information about our kick-off party.  Please be sure to read all the information – you have an assignment for the kick-off!!!

A few more specifics:
• Teachers for the year will be Pastor Tracey and Heather.  We will also have small group leaders for the guys and gals!

• Confirmation will be on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 – 8:30.  The church will be providing a meal available from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. for a $5.00 fee.  Families will have the opportunity to sign up and purchase a meal the week prior.

• We will have homework EVERY week this year.  We would like parents to participate in the homework with their students.  It is a family event.

• There are two retreats to take note of:

o November 2-4 is the Jr. High Gathering at Lutheran Camp Chrysalis for Jr. High Youth.  Cost is $95.00.  Please save the date now.  Registration forms will be filled out and turned in at the kick-off party.  Payment is also due then, or parents can plan a fundraiser to assist with the costs.

o February 15-17 is our family beach retreat with St. Andrew Lutheran Church (the same congregation we partnered with last year for a WONDERFUL experience!)  Cost is yet to be determined, but last year it was $170.00 for the family.  That should be a pretty good guide for this year, so you can start planning your budgets now!

• Covenants can be signed and turned in at the kick-off party.  Please note that there is also an assignment to bring with you included in this mailing.
