Have you ever changed your mind on a religious or political issue?  Did your decision show weakness or strength?  In becoming a Christian, Paul had to change his mind on several issues.  We are not alone in our struggles.  Church is to be a supportive community for those with inner conflicts.

In popular religion, we do good deeds to go to heaven.  Lutherans do good deeds because we know we are going to heaven.  Our assurance of eternal life rests on the promises of baptism.  In baptism we die and are raised with Christ.  The goal of faith is the life of glory.

Romans 8:26-39,  "Experiencing the Full Glory of God" ---Pastor Paul Ziese
Sin, suffering, and death are related. The relationship began in the Garden of Eden. Now creations suffers and dies. God's people suffer and die. Suffering and death will end. Despair is not our destiny. We live in hope. In the resurrection of Jesus, our victory is secure. Paul hopes for a future when we and the world will experience the full glory of God. We are not to be too passive or too active. We are not to defy nature or abuse nature. We wait for God.
